Robot Information
    The robotic vehicle, nicknamed V2, can travel through an underground mine in conditions that might be unsafe for miners to pass through. The 50-inch tall, 1200-pound machine that is equipped with navigation and surveillance cameras, lighting and a manipulator arm can travel up to 5000 feet and monitor and sample air.

    Equipment and Capabilities
    • 3 TV cameras, remote display
    • Continuous display of mine gases from Industrial Scientific detection instrument
    • Approximately 5000 feet of fiber optic control/data cable
