Ridge man dies in rock quarry

A 41 year-old man was fatally injured at a rock quarry after he was thrown from his Honda motorcycle on a rocky trail in the Plumas National Forest.

The accident occurred about 2:15 a.m. one-half mile southeast of Boulder Drive, and friends began searching the area around 9 a.m. The California Highway Patrol didn't receive the call until noon and arrived about a half-hour later. The victim was reportedly dead on arrival.
