A Pickerington, Ohio teen drowned in a quarry in the village of Glenford, the Perry County Sheriff's Office said. The 16-year-old boy had been swimming and diving in a rock quarry on Sand Rock Road in Glenford, about 6 miles southeast of Buckeye Lake. About 8 p.m., he went under, witnesses told deputies. Several people on the scene tried to retrieve him but were unsuccessful, deputies said. The Tri-County and Licking County dive teams, deputy sheriffs and the Glenford Fire Department were called to the scene. (Source: Columbus Dispatch)
