Accident Information File

05-27-2004
A Franklin Co., Tenn., teenager was killed when the pickup truck in which he was riding overturned at a rock quarry near Cowan. The driver, carrying three passengers, began "doing donuts" with his vehicle. The wheels caught on some rocks, causing the truck to fishtail, lose traction and flip over. The 18-year-old victim was pinned underneath and pronounced dead at the scene, just one day before he was scheduled to graduate from high school. Alcohol was ruled a factor in the accident.
