Informational Meeting at NIOSH on June 2 - Refuge Alternatives & Voice Communication when Using Escape Breathing Devices

MSHA in collaboration with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is hosting an informational meeting on June 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm EDT at NIOSH Pittsburgh, Building 140, located in South Park, Pennsylvania.

Two issues are the focus of this meeting. The first issue is the current state of refuge alternatives, particularly the challenges associated with the use of both the prefabricated self-contained units and those with built-in-place structural components. The second issue is enhancing voice communication when using escape breathing devices.
