- A unique Mine ID number that each mine has, serving as its identifier in the database

Notes:
- The data set also includes mines that are abandoned or sealed, not just currently operating mines.
- Join this data set with other mine-level data sets (e.g., inspections, employment/production) using the Mine ID.
- The data set can be linked to other data sets using this key field:
- Mine ID – to connect it with the Employment/Production, Inspection, Violations and Accidents data
