Description:
The Conferences data set provides information on safety and health conferences held to review contested citations. When a miner, operator, contractor, or agent disagrees with a citation or order, they can request an informal conference to discuss the issue.

What’s in the Data Set:
During the conference, the District Manager or District Manager's designee determines whether the citation will:
- Result in a penalty
- Be modified or vacated, or
- Lead to another outcome
Each record in the data set includes:
- The conference number
- The person or group who requested the conference
- The event number related to the citation or order
- The final decision or outcome of the conference
Notes:
- This data set only includes completed conferences
