Best Practices

30 CFR § 56.14207 - Parking procedures for unattended equipment.

Mobile equipment shall not  be left unattended unless the controls are placed in the park position and the parking brake, if provided, is set. When parked on a grade, the wheels or tracks of mobile equipment shall be either chocked or turned into a bank.

Maintain equipment braking systems in good repair and adjustment and set the parking brake (if provided) in order to prevent unexpected movement.  This standard applies to off-road and on-road mobile equipment used on mine property, including vans, SUVs, and pick-up trucks. All mobile equipment used on the mine site must comply with this standard.
