Congress established the Federal Register to inform the public of the rules affecting them and to provide a uniform system for publishing Presidential and Federal agency documents. It is published daily. Documents published by the Federal Register include:

Presidential documents, such as proclamations and executive orders;

Regulations, including proposed and final rules, interim rules, and corrections; and

Notices concerning matters of interest to the public, such as meetings or hearings that are open to the public, the issuance or revocation of licenses, agency reorganization plans, agreements between agencies, and general policy statements or interpretations of rules.
