Description

This part implements the provisions of Section 115(e) of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977. Every operator of an underground mine shall assure the availability of mine rescue capability for purposes of emergency rescue and recovery. Each mine rescue station shall be provided with at least the required equipment. All mine rescue stations serving underground anthracite coal mines, which have no electrical equipment at the face or working section, shall have at least the required amount of equipment appropriate for the number of mine rescue team members.
